Es ist wieder Pride-Month! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Was sind die Ursprünge der Pride-Bewegung? Im Juni 1969 fanden in New-York die Stonewall-Unruhen statt. Die queere Community, allen voran Marsha P. Johnson und Sylvia Rivera, setzte sich bei diesen Unruhen gegen Polizeigewalt zur Wehr.

Der Kampf gegen Queerfeindlichkeit ist auch heute noch wichtig und das nicht nur im Pride-Month, da queere Lebensrealitäten das ganze Jahr stattfinden und queere Menschen noch immer stark von Diskriminierung betroffen sind. Das zeigt leider auch die „Stolzmonat-“ Bewegung, die eine rechtsextreme Gegenkampagne zum Pride Month darstellt.

Daher erwarten euch in diesem Monat noch weitere Posts mit queerem Themenbezug sowie Veranstaltungshinweisen. Bleibt gespannt! ☺️

Wechsel zum Deutschlandsemesterticket

Aufgrund des zum Wintersemester 2024/25 anstehenden Wechsels zum Deutschlandticket für Studierende als rein digitalem Ticket für mobile Geräte kommt es zu folgenden Änderungen beim Aufdruck auf die Studierendenchipkarten. Für Rückmelder:innen ins Wintersemester 2024/25, die für die Semestertickets berechtigt sind, werden ZWEI Daten auf die Karten gedruckt. Die Verlängerung des Ausweises ist auch unabhängig von der Nutzung der Tickets weiterhin notwendig! Die Gültigkeit der Rückmeldung wird bei Verlängerung auf den internen Chip des Studienausweises codiert, um damit auch die Berechtigung für den Studierendenpreis in den Mensen und Cafeterien zu erhalten oder auch um ggf. gültige Zutritte zu erhalten/zu verlängern.

DIES Academicus am 5. Juni

Am kommenden Mittwoch findet das Sport- und Kulturfest DIES Academicus vom Hochschulsport statt. Neben verschiedenen Turnieren gibt es auch Mitmachaktionen unter anderem an verschiedenen Ständen. Auch wir als AStA sind mit einem Stand vertreten und haben Infomaterial aber auch Spiele zum Mitmachen am Stand für euch. Wir freuen uns, euch am Stand anzutreffen! Hier noch ein Hinweis zur Veranstaltung: Die Bezeichnung „Dies Academicus“ kommt aus dem lateinischen und bezeichnet einen akademischen Feiertag an dem die reguläre Lehrtätigkeit üblicherweise pausiert wird. Da dies jedoch nicht zwingend an allen Fakultäten der Fall sein muss erkundigt ihr euch am besten bei euren Lehrenden direkt, da an manchen Fakultäten Anwesenheitspflicht besteht.

Semesterticketrückerstattung

Im aktuellen Sommersemester reisen die Studierenden der Universität Göttingen letztmals mit einem landesweiten Bahnticket sowie einem Busticket der Göttinger Verkehrsbetriebe durch die Gegend. Auch ein Kultursemesterticket ist wie üblich im Semesterbeitrag enthalten. Während die Frist für Rückerstattungen mit Schwerbehinderung oder einer Immatriulation an zwei niedersächsischen Unis bereits abgelaufen ist, könnt ihr noch folgende Typen der Rückerstattung beantragen:

• Für das Sommersemester 2024 hat der AStA eine Sonderregelung eingeführt, die es Studierenden ermöglicht, Bus- und Bahnticket rückerstattet zu bekommen, wenn sie an einer zweiten deutschen Hochschule immatrikuliert sind und dort ein deutschlandweites Semesterticket erworben haben, welches das Göttinger Ticket überflüssig macht. Anträge sind bis zum 30.06.2024 möglich.
• Studierende in finanzieller Not haben die Möglichkeit, eine Rückerstattung aller drei Tickets zu beantragen. Die Ausschlussfrist ist hier ebenfalls der 30.06.2024.

Kinderfest am 15. Juni

Am Samstag, den 15.06.2024, veranstaltet der AStA sein jährliches Kinderfest. Zwischen 14 und 18 Uhr wird es im Garten (Goßlerstr. 16a) aufregende Aktivitäten und unentgeldliche Verpflegung für studierende Eltern und ihre Kinder geben. Seifenblasen bei Sonnenschein, vegetarisches Grillgut, eine Hüpfburg und ein paar Überraschungen warten auf euch!

Zweimal pro Woche AStA-Sozialberatung

Seit Mai findet unsere Sozialberatung wieder zweimal wöchentlich statt: mittwochs zwischen 15 und 17 Uhr und freitags zwischen 11 und 13 Uhr. Zu diesen offenen Sprechzeiten könnt ihr im AStA (Goßlerstr. 16a) vorbeischauen oder uns unter der Nummer 0551-39 34566 telefonisch erreichen. Ansonsten kontaktiert ihr uns am einfachsen per Email, wo ihr auch einen individuellen Termin vereinbaren könnt.

Die Sozialberatung richtet sich an alle Studierenden, die Fragen zu Studienfinanzierung, Semestertickets, psychischer Gesundheit oder einfach Redebedarf haben. Sprechen könnt ihr bei uns mit anderen Studis, die ein offenes Ohr für eure Probleme und Erfahrung mit den Beratungsstellen an unserer Universität haben und euch fachkundig weiterleiten können. O-Phase WiSe 24/25

Leo (sie/ihr) und Maxim (er/ihn) haben als neue Erstsemesterbetreuung mit den Planungen rund um die O-Phase im WiSe 24/25 begonnen. Wie jedes Jahr wird es vom AStA Erstibeutel mit interessanten Infos zum Studium und Leben in Göttingen, sowie Merchandise-Artikel von verschiedenen Firmen, Vereinen und Einrichtungen geben. Die Erstibeutel werden allen Fakultäten für ihre Erstsemesterstudierenden zur Verfügung gestellt und müssen von den zuständigen Fachschaften oder O-Phasen “bestellt” werden. Schreibt uns dafür spätestens bis zum 30.06.2024 eine E-Mail an erstsemester@asta.uni-goettingen.de mit entsprechender Beutelanzahl und unter Angabe eurer Fachschaft/O-Phase.

Europawahl- wichtig für Natur und Klima

Emissionshandel, Natura 2000 Schutzgebiete oder Anreize für eine ökologische Landwirtschaft. Etwa 80% der hiesigen Gesetze für Umweltschutz wurden auf EU-Ebene beschlossen. Ein wichtiges Organ in diesem Gesetzgebungsprozess ist das EU-Parlament, das alle fünf Jahre von den Bürger*innen der EU gewählt wird. Die nächste Wahl findet in diesem Jahr statt, Termin in Deutschland ist der 09. Juni.

Fast alle Gesetze auf EU-Ebene benötigen die Zustimmung des Europäischen Parlamentes. Bei vielen Abstimmungen sind die Mehrheitsverhältnisse allerdings recht knapp. So beispielsweise bei einer ersten Abstimmung zum EU Renaturierungsgesetz, welches verbindliche Ziele zum Umweltschutz auf europäischer Ebene beinhaltet. Dieses Gesetz wurde im letzten Jahr mit einer Mehrheit von 12 Stimmen beschlossen - in einem Parlament mit 705 Abgeordneten. Nach einem Kompromiss mit der Europäischen Kommission und dem Rat der EU, die dem Gesetz ebenfalls zustimmen müssen, erhielt das Gesetz dann eine etwas größere Mehrheit im Europäischen Parlament.

Die Ergebnisse der Europawahl und die damit verbundenen Mehrheitsverhältnisse werden großen Einfluss auf die zukünftige Europäische Gesetzgebung haben. Für den europäischen Naturschutz und all die anderen Themen, die auf EU-Ebene entschieden werden, ist es deshalb relevant wählen zu gehen.

Also: am 09.06.2024 ist Europawahl. Gehe wählen und sprich mit Leuten aus deinem Umfeld über diese Wahl.

It’s Pride Month again! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

What are the origins of the Pride movement? In June 1969, the Stonewall riots took place in New York. The queer community, led by Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera, took a stand against police violence during these riots.

The fight against queer hostility is still important today, and not just during Pride Month, as queer realities take place all year round and queer people are still severely affected by discrimination. Unfortunately, this is also shown by the „Pride Month“ movement, which is a right-wing extremist counter-campaign to Pride Month.

Change to the 'Deutschlandticket'

Due to the upcoming switch to the Deutschlandticket for students as a purely digital ticket for mobile devices in the winter semester 2024/25, the following changes will be made to the printing on the student chip cards. For re-registrants for the winter semester 2024/25 who are eligible for the semester tickets, TWO dates will be printed on the cards.

The extension of the ID card is still necessary regardless of the use of the tickets! The validity of the re-registration will be encoded on the internal chip of the student ID card upon renewal in order to obtain the authorization for the student price in the canteens and cafeterias or to obtain/extend valid access if necessary.

DIES Academicus on 5th June

The DIES Academicus sports and culture festival organised by the University Sports Centre will take place next Wednesday. In addition to various tournaments, there will also be hands-on activities at various stands. The AStA will also be represented with a stand and will have information material as well as games for you to take part in at the stand. We look forward to seeing you at our stand! Here is a note about the event: The term ‘Dies Academicus’ comes from the Latin and refers to an academic holiday on which regular teaching activities are usually paused. However, as this does not necessarily have to be the case at all faculties, it is best to enquire directly with your lecturers, as attendance is compulsory at some faculties.

Semester Ticket Refunds

In the current summer semester, Göttingen’s students are traveling for the last time on a Niedersachsen-wide train ticket and a Göttingen-wide bus ticket. As usual, a cultural semester ticket is also included in the semester fee. While the deadline for refunds with a Disability ID or enrollments at two universities in Lower Saxony has already expired, you can still apply for the following types of refunds:

• For the summer semester 2024, the AStA has introduced a special regulation that allows students to be reimbursed for bus and train tickets if they are enrolled at a second German university and have purchased a Germany-wide semester ticket there, which makes the Göttingen ticket superfluous. Applications are possible until 30 June 2024.
• Students in financial hardship have the opportunity to apply for a refund of all three tickets. The deadline is also 30 June 2024.

Children’s Festival on 15 June

On Saturday, 15 June, the AStA is organizing its annual children’s party. Between 14h and 18h, there will be exciting activities and free food for student parents and their children in our garden (Goßlerstr. 16a). Bubble-blowing in the sunshine, vegetarian barbecue, a bouncy castle and a few surprises await you!

Social Counselling at the AStA Twice a Week

Starting May 2024, our Social Counselling will again take place twice a week: Wednesdays between 3 and 5 pm and Fridays between 11 am and 1 pm. You can visit us at the AStA (Goßlerstr. 16a) during these open consultation hours or give us a ring at 0551-39 34566. Otherwise you can reach us via e-mail, where you can also make an individual appointment.

The Social Counselling is aimed at all students who have questions about student financing, semester tickets, mental health or simply need someone to talk to. Here you can speak with fellow students who’ll lend a friendly ear to your problems and experiences and can likely refer you to the right professionals. Come and visit!

O-Phase WiSe 24/25

Leo (she/her) and Maxim (he/him) have started planning the O-Phase in WiSe 24/25 as the new first semester support team. As every year, the AStA will provide freshmen bags with interesting information about studying and living in Göttingen, as well as merchandise from various companies, clubs and institutions. The first semester bags are made available to all faculties for their first semester students and must be “ordered” by the responsible student councils or O-phases. European elections- important for nature and climate

Emission Trading System, Natura 2000 conservation areas or incentives for ecological agriculture. Around 80% of the laws we have for environmentalism were passed on EU level. An important part of this legislative process is the European Parliament. It gets elected every five years; the next election will be on June 9th.

Almost every law on EU level needs the approval of the European Parliament. But, for many votings the majorities are not distinct. An example of this was the vote for the Nature Restoration Law. This law contains mandatory targets for nature conservation. It passed the EU Parliament with a majority of 12 votes- in a parliament with 705 members. After a compromise with the European Commission and the Council of the EU (the other parts of European legislation) the majority in the parliament was higher than during the first vote.

The result of the European election and the connected majorities will have a big influence on European legislation. For European nature protection and the many other topics that are decided on EU level it is very important to participate in this election.

In short: on June 9th is European election. Go to this election and talk with others about the importance of this election.
